Layla Rae Stewart (born January 31, 2020) is the first child and only daughter of Evan Stewart and Carlin Stewart.
She is the sister of Zade Stewart.
Early life
Layla as a baby
On September 4, 2019, Evan and Carlin Stewart announced that they were expecting their first child, due in February 2020. In a statement to Romper.com, Carlin said:
"We are beyond thrilled to be expecting our first child. Spending every day with your best friend and building a life together has already exceeded our happiest dreams. We are so happy at the thought of parenting together. Three at the table sounds perfect! God is so good"
On October 3, 2019, in a Facebook Live video promoting that night's episode of Bringing Up Bates, Carlin mentioned seeing a sonogram the day before. In this video, she used the pronoun "she" to refer to the baby, before correcting herself to "it", meaning that the baby was most likely a girl. On October 4, 2019, Carlin shared pictures from a gender reveal party asking followers to guess if the baby would be a girl or a boy. On October 5, 2019, she and Evan announced that the baby would be a girl named Layla Rae Stewart. She also included the hashtag #20 weeks, which places the due date in the last week of February 2020.
Her birth was announced on February 1, 2020. Layla Rae Stewart was born at 3:56 p.m. on January 31, 2020. She weighed 5 pounds and 13 ounces, and was 18 inches long. Her original due date was in mid-February 2020, but Carlin had to be induced after being diagnosed with the same blood-clotting disorder as her older sister, Erin, early in her pregnancy. Her birth was featured on the Bringing Up Bates episode "Roaring Bates and Pending Due Dates". Of her birth her parents said:
"How do you describe an experience so emotionally intense and so magically wonderful as welcoming a brand new baby into the world? We feel like our lives just became incredibly busy, but unimaginably blessed with little Layla Rae's arrival! She has already consumed our thoughts and intentions for these past pregnancy months and now, no day will ever be the same without her! Although she came earlier than we expected, this is the best kind of celebration we have ever experienced, and we are so in love with our new role as parents!"
Health
Carlin and Evan revealed that Layla was born with a small hole in her heart, which should've healed on its own by her second birthday.
As a newborn, Layla struggled with jaundice, and was readmitted to the hospital soon after her homecoming.
For the first few months of her life, Layla was in and out of the hospital due to difficulty breathing and low oxygen levels.
In May 2020, Layla was on medication due to acid reflux.
On October 27, 2023, Layla was admitted to the hospital after she tripped and split her chin open. The doctors gave her glue and a couple steri-strips.

Along with her brother, Layla is currently being homeschooled.

Layla appeared on the UpTV show Bringing Up Bates. Her birth was featured on the episode "Roaring Bates and Pending Due Dates".
Wedding involvement
Layla was a flower girl at her aunt Katie's wedding to Travis Clark on December 3, 2021.
She was a flower girl at her uncle Jackson's wedding to Emerson Wells on October 14, 2023.
